This zine, created in 2020, is part of an ongoing project that began in 2017 and continues to evolve. It brings together around 40 film photographs of LGBTQ+ individuals—primarily people of color—encountered at Jacob Riis Beach. The work is rooted in a desire to document fleeting connections and to honor Riis as a rare and vital sanctuary, a space where queer and trans communities gather, express themselves freely, and exist on their own terms. Intimate and observant, the images celebrate presence, identity, and the quiet power of chosen visibility.
Printed in a 5.5" x 8.5" format, the zine reflects both the personal nature of the project and its ongoing commitment to preserving this unique cultural landscape.
